I work on paper and canvas using a variety of paint mediums and natural ground earth materials to create texture and depth to my work.

My process starts with a feeling or emotion I wish to express and then people, places, objects and nature will be drawn into my experience to fuel the images and colours I wish to work with. If I am working to commission then the client’s brief will inform the foundation and parameters.

I start with sketches in different mediums on paper to start forming a colour palette and composition. Often tracing and cutting out my images to play with arrangement. I work intuitively, always focused on my initial emotion to keep aligned.

The size of the work ranges from A3 on paper to large canvases.

I am currently in a phase of scaling up, reducing complexity and experimenting with sculpture in clay and stone. To assist in my growth and development I will be working with an established Sussex artist and also an English, france-based stone sculptor.
